Tyler White • ATC, iSPORT Training Coordinator
Tyler has been working at iSPORT since 2008 and has been integral in designing and implementing rehabilitation programs for high school, collegiate and professional athletes that reduce injury rates and improve performance.
Tyler graduated from Castleton University in Vermont as a Certified Athletic Trainer. He spent four years on the men’s Ice Hockey Team as an undergrad. This necessitated many hours in the weight room and gym developing the strength and stamina necessary to compete at the collegiate level. This experience helped him to understand the needs of injured athletes and what is ultimately required to get an athlete back to competition at their highest level. He continues to be active in post-collegiate hockey leagues as a player.
The number of world-class and professional athletes that have come to iSPORT have provided Tyler an opportunity that few professional ATCs ever receive. This experience has provided valuable insight as to what is required in the design and implementation of world-class programs for athletes of all ages and abilities.
Matthew Howland • ATC
Matt joined Vermont Orthopaedic Clinic in July of 2011. He received a BS in Athletic Training from Castleton University.
Matt has been the Head Athletic Trainer at Shrewsbury High School in MA, Brattleboro Union High School in VT, and Springfield High School in VT where he designed and implemented the high school’s first Athletic Training department. While in Springfield and Brattleboro, Matt also served as the strength and conditioning coach working with athletes from a variety of sports.
Throughout his career, Matt has been very active with high school football throughout Vermont. He served as the Head Athletic Trainer for the South team of the North – South All Star Senior Bowl as well as an Athletic Trainer for the Vermont All-Star Footbal l camps. He has also worked as the Head Athletic Trainer for the Vermont team at the Shrine Maple Sugar Bowl.
Matt currently serves as the Head Athletic Trainer at Mill River Union High School, assists Tyler White at Rutland High School, and is a Physician Extender at VOC.
Dominick Maniery, ATC, Athletic Trainer
Dominick joined VOC in 2016. He received a BS in Athletic Training from Castleton University in Castleton, VT.
Mike Dorion • MBA, MS, ATC
A member of the Vermont Orthopaedic Clinic (VOC) staff since 1998, Mike is currently Practice Manager of VOC and Killington Medical Clinic. Mike's previous positions include; Athletic Trainer and Safe Sports Coordinator for the Vermont Sports Medicine Center in Rutland, VT; and Head Athletic Trainer and Teacher at Mission High School in Mission, TX.
Mike holds a BS from Castleton University, an MS from Indiana State University, and an MBA from the College of St. Joseph's. He enjoys active affiliations with Rutland High School Athletics and Castleton University's Athletic Training Program. He is a member of the American Association of Orthopedic Executives, National Athletic Trainers' Association and Vermont Association of Athletic Trainers.
Matthew Gammons • MD, iSPORT Medical Director
With an impressive range of education and experience in Sports Medicine, Dr. Matt Gammons serves our patient population at both the Vermont Orthopaedic Clinic and Killington Medical Clinic. He is board-certified in family practice and sports medicine. His specialty is in non-operative musculoskeletal care.
Dr. Gammons received a BS in Biomedical/Mechanical Engineering from the University of Vermont and was awarded his MD at Ross University School of Medicine in Portsmouth, Dominica. He served his residency in family practice at Saginaw Cooperative Hospitals in Michigan. He completed a fellowship in primary care sports medicine at the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee.
Dr. Gammons has been on staff at the Killington Medical Clinic and the VOC since 2004. Previously, he served as the Assistant Residency Director and the Director for Sports Medicine at St. Michael Family Practice Residency in Milwaukee.
In addition to having authored numerous sports medicine-related articles, papers and presentations, Dr. Gammons has been the recipient of several professional honors, including the Harry Galanty Young Investigators Award for Outstanding Research from the American Medical Society for Sports Medicine. He also enjoys several sports team affiliations, including serving as team physician for the U.S. Ski and Snowboard teams.
Melbourne D. Boynton, MD
Among the many premier medical practitioners at Vermont Orthopaedic Clinic, Dr. Mel Boynton is the VOC’s Medical Director and a highly skilled orthopaedic surgeon specializing in knee and shoulder surgery, sports medicine, and arthroscopy. Dr. Boynton also serves as Chief Medical Director at Rutland Regional Medical Center.
Dr. Boynton completed his undergraduate work at the University of Vermont then moved on to Chicago’s Northwestern University’s Medical School. He interned in General Surgery at Brown University and Rhode Island Hospital in Providence, where he completed his residency in Orthopaedic Surgery.
A prolific author of numerous medical journal articles, he is also affiliated with several national sports teams. Among them, since 1998, he’s acted as team physician for the U.S. Men’s Alpine Ski Team as well as the U.S. Snowboard Team. He enjoys a long list of medical professional affiliations, appointments, and membership in several orthopaedic and medical organizations.
Bethany Stack • PA-C
A Vermont Orthopaedic Clinic provider since 2003, Bethany currently serves as an orthopaedic Physician Assistant. She holds a BA in Health Science from Castleton University in Castleton, VT and an MS in Medical Science in the Physician Assistant Program at Yale University. Her primary focus involves assisting Dr. Boynton in the treatment of knee and shoulder injuries, sports medicine and arthroscopy.
Prior to her work at the VOC, Beth served as an EMT for the Rutland Regional Ambulance Service and as an Emergency Care Attendant with Castleton First Response. She maintains active memberships in several medical industry associations and organizations.
